Tours are scheduled at 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on each night, rain or shine. The tours will be followed by refreshments in the old one-room schoolhouse. Fresh Eating in Norwalk

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Norwalk Farmers MarketsThere are several creative ways you can keep cool in the summer heat. One of the ways is to eat lighter, smaller but more frequent meals. It helps keep your blood sugar stable and your body creates less heat with the smaller meals. But changing our cooking and eating habits isn’t easy, and coming up with new recipes can be daunting. Having easy access to a wide variety of fresh foods near your Stamford apartment rentals makes it easier. For instance, the residents of our Morningside gardens Apartments in Norwalk are centrally located to several local farms and farmers markets, as well as the two nearby Whole Foods Markets.

Fodor Farm at 322 Flax Hill Road in South Norwalk is the closest to Morningside Gardens at about 1.6 miles. The market offers an array of Connecticut’s Farms and Local Vendors who sell only Connecticut Grown products. The Norwalk Farmers’ Market on North Water Street parking lot at The Maritime Aquarium on Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m. is another option. Buying local from local farmers benefits both you, the consumer, with fresher, in-season produce and supports local small businesses. Read More→

house-plants-300x250Finally! The iceberg across the street from my office that started out two-stories tall has at long last melted away. Now I can see the trees are budding, the lawns are greening and early flowers are starting to bloom. All around Norwalk, one can see signs of spring in many of the well-tended parks. Here at the Morningside Gardens featuring Stamford rentals on Prospect Street, we’ve been hard at work with tree pruning, spreading new mulch and planting the flower beds. Very soon, residents and visitors will be able to see the lovely plantings in full bloom.

But you don’t have to leave all that loveliness outdoors. You can grow some of your own greenery that will not only look lovely, but actually provide real health benefits to you and your family. According to a University of Agriculture in Norway study, indoor plants can reduce colds and related illnesses by more than 30 percent, by increasing a home’s humidity levels and decreasing dust. One of the most popular houseplants called the Mother Fern is not only easy to care for, but it’s one of the best at purifying the air. It does well with indirect light and very little moisture. Here’s a list of the nine best houseplants that help remove dust, toxins, tobacco smoke and allergens from the inside air. Read More→
