bob sagetThe Ridgefield Playhouse is gearing up to welcome to nationally-known performers. First, comedian Bob Saget is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th. He may be best known for his role as Danny Tanner on Full House, perhaps the most successful family-oriented show of all time. He was also the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, another family-friendly television show. However, his stand-up comedy act has an entirely different reputation for being hilarious, but also edgy. It’s a far cry from his days as Danny Tanner. This is definitely a show for mature audiences only. So, grab your adult friends and spend an evening rolling on the floor with laughter. The show starts at 8:00 p.m.

Then, just two days later on November 12th, Ani DiFranco performs at the Ridgefield Playhouse. She and her band will preview their new album Red Letter Year. She is a self-described little folksinger, and if you ask anyone that has seen her live performance, she is a must-see. Plus, she will welcome special guest Gaby Moreno, a soulful singer from Guatemala City. This concert is part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter Series. The performance starts at 8:00 p.m. Read More→

800px-norwalkctmaritimeaquariumimaxentrance08122007Don’t miss the opportunity to see Connecticut’s fall foliage like no other way possible - from the water. Not only do you get to see Connecticut’s trees blazing with bright yellows, oranges and reds, but you can simultaneously enjoy the beauty reflecting on the water. There is no other view like it and one way to see it - the Maritime Aquarium Fall Foliage Study Cruises.

These exciting outings reveal what is, to many, a surprising and amazing diversity of marine life just off our shores in Long Island Sound. Aquarium educators onboard put participants to work in collecting and examining animals from all levels of the water column: tiny wriggly plankton gathered at the surface (and viewed with a videomicroscope), little crabs and worms grabbed from the muddy bottom, and an always-unique variety of fish, crabs, lobsters and surprises brought up in the Oceanic’s trawl net.
