You can participate in the fund raising efforts on June 18 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the “New Haven Fireworks Fundraiser” at Terminal 110.

Tickets are $25 and the fundraiser will provide a taste of what the BIG celebration on the 4th will be like, as it includes a live band, beer, wine, food, and a dueling piano show. The”New Haven Fireworks Fundraiser“ event will take place at 240 Sargent Drive, New Haven, CT. 06511. Please click here to purchase tickets for the event.

BeesEarth Day 2010, which is set for Thursday, April 22nd, is a special day indeed. Not only is it the 40th anniversary of the holiday, but it is also the 200th anniversary of the birth of L.L. Langstroth. Don’t feel bad if you don’t know who L.L. Langstroth is, that isn’t exactly a household name, but he is considered the “Father of American Beekeeping.” Thus, the Yale Peabody Museum is hosting a bee-themed Earth Day celebration next Thursday, April 22nd, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

This is an event that is fun for the whole family, and the best part of all is that it is free to attend. You’ll learn how bees are crucial to our environment - not only do they produce honey, but they are a crucial aspect of the pollination process. Unfortunately, numbers in the US and in Europe are dwindling, which is only one of the many reasons we need to care for the environment around us. Read More→
