Tour Local Farms During Hamden Bike Ride

Well, here is an opportunity for a break from the daily routine (or weekend routine as the case may be). Its the 2nd annual Tour des Farms bicycle ride in Hamden, CT on Sunday, August 1, 2010.

If you enjoy cycling, eating and music, you’ll love this ride. The 25 mile route will take riders to local farms, greenhouses, orchards, and historic sites around the New Haven area. Tickets are $25 for students, $25 for adults and $60 for families.

Town Center Fireworks July 2 in Hamden

fireworksJuly 4th is the time for picnics with family and friends. And, of course fireworks. The Hamden Connecticut fireworks display is always a popular way to spend July 4th. This year the fireworks extravaganza is scheduled for Friday, July 2, 2010 at Town Center Park. Fireworks are planned to start when it gets dark around 9:20 p.m.

The music at this year’s show will be amazing. The U.S. Airforce Band of Liberty, will be performing. This huge 45 person band will kick off the highly anticipated summer concert series at 7:30 p.m.  In case of rain the concert will move to the Hamden High School auditorium and the fireworks show will be delayed til  Saturday, July 3.

Alive @ Five Concert Series in StamfordHave you been eagerly awaiting the Alive @ Five concert schedule? Well wait no longer because the schedule is now live and the series is set to kick off on Thursday, June 24 at Columbus Park in Downtown Stamford.

National acts include the Gin Blossoms, Soul Asylum, Beach Boys, Seven Mary Three, Rusted Root, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Uncle Kracker. In addition, Alive @ Five attendees will also be able to see one local bands as well, this special band will get to open the whole show.
