Just one of the theaters near our Stamford Apartment Rentals

Residents at our Stamford apartment rentals can choose among many different theaters, including the Bowtie Majestic.

If movies are your thing, then our downtown Stamford apartment rentals are where you want to be!  From our apartments at Hoyt-Bedford, Morgan Manor or The Townhouse, you can choose from four different movie theatres housing a total of 18 movie screens.

The Avon Theatre Film Center, on Bedford Street, is the closest to our rental communities and offers the best of independent, world and documentary films; foreign and Hollywood classics; and educational programming that will enhance the cultural richness of the downtown Stamford community.

Just two blocks away at the Stamford Town Center Mall is the Bowtie Landmark Cinemas with nine movie screens. Here you will find the latest films, offered by a four generation family-owned company that is dedicated to returning style and elegance to the movie-going experience. Two blocks west on lower Summer Street is another Bowtie facility, the Majestic Six. The Majestic has a classic deco-art style featuring classic neon lights and an elegant marble lobby. Sketch of New Branford Fire House

An artist's drawing of the new Branford fire house.

Those who live in our Montoya Branford apartment rentals are sure to notice a number of changes coming this year. There have been new laws passed and a number of new municipal projects which have come to fruition and will change life for the better.

Ground was broken on a new fire headquarters for which construction is underway and on time, with cost-savings that have allowed the town to include green energy innovations such as solar paneling. In addition, fire hydrant markers are being added so that they are easy to find even under the snow that winter storms bring down upon us. Read More→

Branford apartments

Halloween near Branford apartments

As you prepare for some tasty treats and fun tricks near your Branford apartments, you may be wondering how all this fun came about. The origin of Halloween goes back at least 3,000 years to Celtic celebration that started at sundown on October 31 and continued until sundown on November 1. It was similar to our modern New Year’s celebration. On this night, jack-o-lanterns were set out on porches and in windows to welcome deceased loved ones and as a protection against malevolent spirits. Lumps of burning coal were set inside the pumpkins as a source of light, but were later replaced by candles.

The pumpkin itself is believed to have originated in North America from seeds of related plants found in Mexico dating back to 7000 B.C. The name “pumpkin” originated from the Greek word for “large melon” and was changed by the French into “pompon” then by the English to “pumpion” and eventually by American colonists to “pumpkin.” Centuries before the pilgrims landed, Native American Indians used pumpkins as a staple in their diets. Anything and everything you ever wanted to know about pumpkins can be found by visiting http://www.pumpkin-patch.com/about.html Read More→

Enjoy Fall Fun Near Your Norwalk Rentals

There is so much to do in and around Norwalk in October for the residents of our Morningside Gardens Norwalk apartments that it can be hard to decide.

For instance on two Saturday nights, Oct.15 and 22, you can take a lantern-light tour through the historic Mill Hill graveyard and hear chilling tales from the spirits of Norwalk’s past. Tours are scheduled at 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on each night, rain or shine. The tours will be followed by refreshments in the old one-room schoolhouse. This pre-Halloween event is organized by the Norwalk Historical Society. During “A Haunting at Mill Hill,” participants will hear stories of murder, death, destruction and more while they meet renegade Tory Easias Bouton, Chester, the haunted Civil War statue, and other entities from Norwalk’s colorful history. The cemetery is located at 2 East Wall Street, Norwalk. Read More→

For the seventh year in a row the Stamford Downtown Special Services District (SDSSD) hosts this premier event that kicks off the fall schedule of events for area residents. It’s a free event and showcases some of the area’s finest and most unique artisans and their wares. This year there will be over 80 booths to peruse and wander among.
