New Haven’s Unsilent Night
By
Make plans Thursday, December 10th to join Phil Kline in the the 3rd annual “Unsilent Night” in New Haven. What exactly is “Unsilent Night?” Well, it is a boombox parade of of the composer’s original Christmas song, “Unsilent Night.” Basically, all participants are to meet at the Yale bookstore at 5:30 p.m. You’ll be treated to some delightful refreshments while you pick up the music. At 6:15 p.m., the processional steps off and winds its way through the streets of New Haven, which are adorned with the Holiday Tree and Luminaria. The route will conclude back at the Yale bookstore at 7 p.m., where you will get a chance to meet with composer Phil Kline, and let him know what you think of his song.
It is free to join the processional, but be sure to bring a boombox or anything that will be able to play a CD, cassette or mp3. It’s a great way to get in the holiday spirit, by listening to exceptional holiday music while walking the magical streets of New Haven. The “Unsilent Night” event is part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, and if you RSVP for the event, you will be entered to win 2 free tickets to the 2010 festival. Call 203-498-3727 to RSVP for “Unsilent Night.”
Ensuring that you don’t miss any New Haven holiday experience is a lot easier if you live in or near the city. For spacious New Haven apartments, look no further than Montoya in Branford. While the community is technically outside New Haven city limits, it is only 10 minutes from Yale and everything the city has to offer, including “Unsilent Night.”
