Celebrate National Dance Day in Downtown Stamford

By

ballet-slippersThis Saturday, July 30, groups in cities and towns all over the country will celebrate the second annual National Dance Day. As it was officially recognized by Congress last year, the purpose of National Dance Day is to bring awareness of health and wellness issues in a fun and lively manner.

This year, National Dance Day participants will gather at Six Flags theme parks, as well as in other locations around the country. Here in Stamford, the folks at Jazzersize of Southwestern CT are hosting a free National Dance Day event in downtown Stamford. It’ll be held outside on the lawn of the Church of the Archangels at the corner of Bedford Street and Third Street – just a few blocks’ stroll for the residents of our Morgan Manor, Hoyt-Bedford and The Townhouse Stamford apartment rentals. The beginners’ dance will start at 11 a.m., intermediate at 11:30 a.m., and advanced at noon. At 12:30 p.m., all participants will dance again for a final mini-performance.

Participants are encouraged to arrive early to sign up and to bring their comfortable shoes and a bottle of water. All ages are welcome on Saturday and best of all – no prior dance experience is necessary. You’ll be able to choose from three types of dances and different levels of difficulty, so there’s bound to something for everyone.
