Fundraising for Fireworks in New Haven

It would just be plain un-American to skip fireworks on July 4th. Luckily the New Haven fireworks show will go on despite being cut from the city’s budget this year. The July 4th fireworks will still be a huge spectacular due to fund-raising efforts and sponsors, such as Ikea who donated $20,000. You can participate in the fund raising efforts on June 18 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the “New Haven Fireworks Fundraiser” at Terminal 110.
Tickets are $25 and the fundraiser will provide a taste of what the BIG celebration on the 4th will be like, as it includes a live band, beer, wine, food, and a dueling piano show. The location of this year’s July 4th fireworks show has changed. The fireworks will be set off from the top of East Rock this year to provide more visibility from many parts of the city and hopefully ease traffic congestion.
