Come to the Hamden Memorial Day Parade
By
While many are flocking to the beach to sit on the sandy shores of Connecticut for the Memorial Day weekend, there are many who have chosen to conserve cash and gas and stay in Hamden this weekend. If you’re one of the many who is trying to save a little green this holiday weekend, then you might want to consider attending the Hamden Memorial Day Parade. This year marks the 74th anniversary of the event which is set to take place May 31.
The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Hamden High School and will continue north along Dixwell Avenue to the Memorial Town Hall. Several local organizations as well as members of our armed services will be marching in the parade. Following the parade there will be a wreath ceremony in front of Hamden Middle School at the Veterans Memorial.
The Town of Hamden is currently looking for convertibles to use in the parade and would be honored if any members of our Armed Forces may want to participate and march. If you would like to participate or have a convertible that you would consider being used for the parade, please call the Mayor’s Office at 203-287-7100.
