Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk Named one of America’s Most Livable Cities

By

Stamford, CTFinally, the rest of the nation is going to know what we have known for years and years: Stamford and Norwalk are two of the best cities in the nation to call home. Forbes.com recently released a list of the top 10 most livable cities in America, and Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk came in at #9. For those that get inspired to relocate to Stamford or Norwalk after reading these new Forbes rankings, CTBestApts.com features some of the best apartments in Stamford – The Townhouse, Hoyt Bedford and Morgan Manor – as well as beautiful Norwalk apartments – Morningside Gardens.

What makes a city more livable than another? Well, these rankings were determined by a variety of different factors including the income growth over the last five years, current unemployment rates, cost of living, crime rates and arts and culture ratings. Forbes used data from the Bureau of Labor Statisitics, Moody’s Economy.com, the FBI Crime Report and Sperling’s Best Places to compare 200 metropolitan statistical areas and come up with a list of the top 10.

With these categories being the determining factors, it’s no surprise that college towns made up most of the top 5; however, we are so proud that out of 200 metropolitan areas, Stamford and Norwalk were ranked #9. It’s definitely the income growth, low crime rate and vibrant arts & leisure rankings that helped move us into the top 10. When it comes to income growth, Bridgeport/Stamford/Norwalk is #6 out of the whole nation. Basically, if you are looking to grow your career professionally and financially (and who isn’t), Stamford is where you want to be. Even better, is that our crime rate is low (ranked #10), so you can feel safe and secure as your income grows over the years. When it comes to arts & leisure, Bridgeport/Stamford/Norwalk came in at #11, and considering the different cultural events taking place on almost a daily basis, I’m a little surprised we weren’t ranked even higher. From exceptional cuisine to free summer concerts to open-air markets and amazing art shows, Stamford and Norwalk offer a vibrant and exciting atmosphere in which there is always something to do.
