The Found Footage Festival Returns on May 2nd

The Found Footage FestivalThe historic Avon Theatre in Stamford, Connecticut is bringing back The Found Footage Festival on Sunday, May 2nd at 8PM. This popular event features a hilarious look at video footage found at garage sales, thrift stores, warehouses, and dumpsters throughout the country. Hosted by curators Pickett and Prueher, attendees will get a unique perspective of some forgotten movies and found treasures.

Some of the movies that will be showcased in the 2010 program include:

  • A collection of the worst Saturday morning cartoons on VHS
  • Highlights from a 1987 video dating reel found by David Cross
  • A home movie taken at a 1985 heavy metal festival outside Washington, D.C.
  • Exercise videos featuring Dolph Lundgren, Milton Berle, and WWF’s The Bushwhackers

The Avon Theatre, located at 272 Bedford Street, was re-opened in 2004 and features the best of independent, world and documentary films, foreign and Hollywood classics, and educational programming in downtown Stamford. Residents at nearby apartment communities in Stamford including Hoyt Bedford, Morgan Manor, and The Townhouse truly reap the benefits of living so close to the Avon Theatre Film Center.

Tickets for The Found Footage Festival are $10 for non-members, $8 for students/seniors, $6 for members, and free for Carte Blanche.
