Chocolate Festival in New Haven

By ctapts

Valentine Chocolate FestivalValentine’s Day is just around the corner, but New Haven wants you to get into the spirit a little early. So, on January 30th, they are hosting the most delicious event of the winter - a chocolate festival. The event has a lot more to it than different types of chocolate on display - it is a friendly culinary competition of professional and amateur chocolatiers. Basically, you’ll get to see and try things at this festival that you’ve never experienced before. As an attendee, you can sample delectable chocolate treats and participate in a silent auction full of professional entries. For the public, the festivities - public tasting, socializing, silent auction and voting for the People’s Choice Award - begin at 1:00 p.m and conclude only two hours later at 3:00 p.m. It’s not an all-day event, so you’ll want to make sure you are on time in order to savor these amazing treats.

The event takes place in the Thomas Golden Student Center at St. Thomas More Church in New Haven. It’s only $10 to get in and that includes nine samples and one non-alcoholic drink. Of course, you are free to give more than $10 and remember to bring more your checkbook so you can bid on things during the silent auction. All proceeds go to the Montessori School on Edgewood.

Aren’t you lucky to be living near a city like New Haven that has annual chocolate festivals? If you aren’t currently living in the New Haven area, it’s time to relocate, and there isn’t a better option than Seramonte or Montoya. These two communities feature luxury apartments in New Haven ranging in size from studios to three-story townhomes. Be sure to check them out this weekend before or after the chocolate festival.
