Living at our Morningside Gardens Norwalk apartments community gives our residents lots of options for things to do and places to go that are just minutes away. Since winter here in Connecticut can be a mixed bag of weather, it’s hard to plan on outdoor activities too far ahead, even with how warm the weather has been recently. If you are a Morningside Gardens parent, then you definitely want to find something to do next week for winter vacation for Norwalk public schools. Thankfully, there’s a great place just a short drive from Morningside Gardens.
SportsCenter of Connecticut in Shelton is a unique family entertainment experience. At SportsCenter, you can enjoy a number of athletic activities like weather-protected golf driving range, 18-hole mini-golf course, bowling, batting cages, the world’s only double-decker ice-skating arena and a whole lot more! There is also a fully stocked arcade and even a jungle-themed laser tag arena, both of which are always popular so you won’t have to wait for a game to get going. There’s even an arts ‘n crafts area called “Glitter” where budding artists can try out new art projects. As any resident of our Stamford rental apartments can tell you, the Friends Book Shop at the Ferguson Library is a great resource even in the age of e-readers. The bookstore has been around for a long time and has contributed to the quality of life and education in Stamford for many generations. It is one of only two retail used bookstores in lower Fairfield County, and the store offers rows and rows of books priced at an unbelievable $1 to $3 each.
The Book Shop occupies a great location fronting on Broad Street, on the front side of the Ferguson Library. It’s a short walk of about three blocks for the residents of our Hoyt-Bedford and Morgan Manor Apartments, and just a block from The Townhouse apartments on Prospect Street. From the street, you can see the rows and shelves of books for sale through the large sunny windows. Read More→
Residents of our Branford apartment rentals have no doubt heard that Governor Dannel Malloy and area legislators told Branford that they would have $150,000 to complete a pedestrian walkway and to add lighting to the town green. Additional funds were awarded to the town for a housing feasibility study and for a consultant to work with the Branford Housing Authority and planning body to assess the town’s future housing needs.
This money was granted by the Governor through the State’s Office of Policy and Management. The Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) awards money for economic development, community conservation and quality of life projects. Branford’s town engineer has said that the money will help continue to realize the full visions of the downtown revitalization project, which includes adding benches, parking bump-outs, lighting and the brick-paver-walkways downtown. Imagine what fun those additions will make evenings on the town green, and how it will make Branford’s Green come alive in the summer!
Those who live in our Montoya Branford apartment rentals are sure to notice a number of changes coming this year. There have been new laws passed and a number of new municipal projects which have come to fruition and will change life for the better.
Ground was broken on a new fire headquarters for which construction is underway and on time, with cost-savings that have allowed the town to include green energy innovations such as solar paneling. In addition, fire hydrant markers are being added so that they are easy to find even under the snow that winter storms bring down upon us. Read More→
There are tons of great events for those living in our Seramonte community of Hamden rental apartments. One of our favorite local venues, the Shubert Theater, is just one place to enjoy all kinds of fun shows, from musicals to rock concerts and more. Coming up in February, there are a few can’t-miss events.
In early February, the Yale Opera is putting on a production of Mozart’s classic opera, Cosi Fan Tutti. The opera is presented in full Italian with English subtitles so that viewers can enjoy both the glorious singing and the engaging story. You can enjoy this from Feb. 10 through 12, and discounted student tickets are available. Read More→

Witness the extraordinary creations from returning favorite gingerneers, along with some new architectural competitors showing off their gingerbread skills.
The creations were judged by a panel of special guests at the Member’s Preview & Opening Reception on Nov. 11. Visitors will be able to vote for their gingerbread fan favorite both at the Museum and through an online poll, which also includes photos of each submission.

While you’re out shopping for gifts for yourself and others around Hamden rental apartments, it’s also a great time to make sure you have everything for a winter readiness kit. While we do everything we can at Seramonte to make sure life for you is safe and comfortable, we all have to do our part to make sure we’re prepared for the winters that can sometimes be harsh.
The best way to do this is by assembling a winter weather kit. Start this out with a large plastic container that can hold everything and either has wheels or handles for transportation. Inside, we need to put:
Lights: flashlights, long-lasting candles and lanterns. Make sure to include batteries for the flashlights, and water-proof matches for the candles and/or lanterns.
Warmth: Blankets, hand warmers, extra gloves and socks. An emergency or space blanket is small, light, and waterproof. Hand warmers are also great, as they are small, easy to use and fast-acting. Read More→
